Training

  • Developed concept, training design, delivery and program management strategies for short-term vocational training in hotel housekeeping and entry-level restaurant work for newly arrived refugees from around the world, tapping labor statistics and employer advisors.  Both programs are acknowledged models and highly successful.
  • Developed content for first on-line training module for a national refugee employment technical assistance provider as member of  Higher (RefugeeWorks) Peer Advisory Network.  Included work with web designer, launch strategy and associated downloadable Instructors Guide and learning aids.
  • Designed and delivered customized training workshops, usually as leader of multi-cultural team.  Topics include:  Board Fundraising, Strategic Planning, Consulting Skills, Impact Measurement Systems, Advocacy, Coalition Development, Meeting Management/Facilitation Skills, Program Design/Proposal Writing and Staff Skill Development.  Examples include:

    • Program Design for World Bank Caspian Basin Initiative
    • Staff Development Close-Out Workshop for UMCOR Turkey
    • Board Fundraising Skills for a leading arts organization in Austin, TX

  • Conducted three month technical training for 30 Small Business Peace Corps volunteers in Armenia. Supervised staff, volunteers and speakers as member of multi-cultural team customizing new village-based training model.
  • Oversaw in-country follow-on programming to support all USAID-funded training in Uzbekistan. Advised contractors in training design to maximize benefit from and participation in the program.
