Chief of Party

  • Led program and field operations in post-tsunami Sri Lanka combining emergency response with organizational start-up in the context of re-escalating ethnic conflict.  Took operations from zero to 50 staff (7 expatriates) and 4 field offices, managed a $3 million emergency response grant program and initiated micro-enterprise development and community mobilization pilot programs.
  • As Chief of Party, managed complex election support program in Malawi, involving IQC compliance management of 7 hybrid grant/subcontracts to Malawian NGOs in civic/voter education, poll and media monitoring.  Supervised host country national staff of 10 and three regional offices.   Designed and staffed short term consultancies in media association and coalition development to strengthen key implementing partners and achieve strategic civil society objectives.
  • Executed successful start-up of Uzbekistan office of a five country, four PVO-member consortium beginning USAID-funded civil society support center network in Central Asia as part of political transition strategy. Supervised staff of eight host country nationals.
